About
WORKS|PROJECTS represents a distinctive stable of critically acclaimed British artists and develops strategic initiatives that promote collecting contemporary art and give emerging artists access to the commercial art market.
Established by curator Simon Morrissey in 2008, WORKS|PROJECTS represents Edwina Ashton, Melanie Counsell, Sarah Dobai, David Mackintosh, Heather & Ivan Morison, Magnus Quaife, Kit Poulson, David Wojtowycz and Richard Woods.
WORKS|PROJECTS also works to foster the best emerging artistic talent and has identified significant new voices, representing artists such as Michael Dean and Andy Holden early in their careers and bringing their work to widespread acclaim.
With projects such as Regional Interference, which in its first iteration in 2013 supported 5 unrepresented artists to gain new critical and commercial support, WORKS|PROJECTS works to replicate this success for new talent emerging from the South West of England.
Between November 2008 and August 2014 WORKS|PROJECTS ran a gallery programme of solo exhibitions, curated group projects and events from its space on Sydney Row, Bristol. Located in Bristol’s vibrant harbourside district and within walking distance of major public spaces Arnolfini and Spike Island, the gallery gained a reputation as one of the best places to see and buy new art in the South West.
From Autumn 2014 WORKS|PROJECTS began exploring a more expansive model than its past predominantly gallery-based programme.
WORKS|PROJECTS continues to represent artists and participate in art fairs and is now developing a series of strategic initiatives with public sector and commercial partners that develop collecting contemporary art in the South West of England and promote the best artists based in the region nationally and internationally.
